SHOW DETAILS
WCQ198 Amy and Stephen at NINE
2008-04-08

Host: Amy Matheny with guest host Stephen Rader.

Dish: Amy and Stephen talk to us from the show NINE on this Queercast. Stephen has hailed this as the best Porchlight show ever! Amy has been living at the theater. The best and the worst of talk shows for the GLBT community: why Oprah rocked it and how Leno blew it. And, of course, Dolly on Idol.

Music Featured on this Queercast:
Cher - "Believe"
Dolly Parton - "I Will Always Love You"

Jeff S: Hi Amy! nice show..I like Dolly Parton as well..U will probably see me wed at Scarlett

james: I thought it interesting that you two had different opinions about the Leno kerfuffle. I'm with Ellen (and i believe Amy) on this one. It's one thing to have a sense of humor and to be able to laugh at yourself and your community, but there was nothing funny about Leno's 'gay look' demand of Ryan Phillipe. Which isn't so surprising, because there's never anything funny about Leno. Would he tell a black actor 'give me your blackest look'? Or would he tell an actor of italian descent to 'give me your most italian look,' knowing that he expects the actor to act like a mobster? All of it is wrong and just not funny. I do like Stephen, though and I especially like it when the hosts talk about their non-pod lives, especially growing up, etc.
