Amy Off-Air: Power Women and JT...
2008-04-08

I am feeling a bit under the weather today (I was around a plethora of folks this weekend so many of you could have done this to me...or maybe I just ran myself into the ground...that's probably the truth of it all). Kelli headed to NYC for the week. My brother and father are visiting later this week so I am gearing up to have them here - very excited! My brother has never seen my house. Nilla is getting groomed for her grandpa and uncle tomorrow, which probably means it will rain. Always rains when she gets groomed.

I keep getting emails from the Hillary camp and I want to make another donation, but I have been hesitating. Waiting for what? I don't know...for the good people of Pennsylvania to start having a voice in our democracy. Maybe I don't feel the urgency since neither Barack or Hillary can ultimately win the nomination now since they are in such a dead heat. Hillary came on Ellen on Monday. I missed it but am lucky that Di-lish sent me a link. Once again Hillary proves that she doesn't have to cry to be human. She has a connection, a real human connection with our community. Hillary and Bill both embraced our community - he made mistakes but I think Hillary will make amends for it all. It may take a Hillary to clean up after a Bush and after a Clinton. I do think that the truth of it is that she will do big things for our community if elected. And we need her. Check out this clip from her appearance if you missed it. Think I may have to make another donation now.

This week I have been way into basketball, college ball, that is. Because all of my Tennessee teams have been trying to go all the way. Kansas beat Memphis men last night. Exciting game and there will be more opportunities for the Freshman Derrick Rose of Memphis. (and boy, what a shot into overtime for Kansas! Legendary. ) Lady Vols play tonight. Some Candace on Candace action. Should be HOT! Not that kind of hot -but HOT!

Lastly, our lady Madge released her new video with Justin T. With the vaselined lens she doesn't look a day over 30+ and her body is still killer. She and JT make a sexy pair. I like the vibe of the song (should be fun on the dance floor) but I miss the long ago days of singing along with her tunes. "Cherish, Cherish" anyone? Ahhh... I miss the cheesy Madonna so much. La Isla Bonita, Dear Jessie, Lucky Star...you know what I am talking about. But here it is. I kind of felt squeamish wanting them to makeout, kiss, grind - the usual music video fare - and then feeling like I might need a bath afterward if they did too much (little too Mary Kay Letourneau for me, maybe). So I guess they struck a balance. It's called 4 Minutes and the song is....you guys are SO SMART!!!! Anyone say Anatomy 101?

Comments:

Aim: Kylie was just on the Today Show. They kept showing clips of her doing Locamotion and she was all embarrassed. It was flippin' adorable. Except if I had a videos of me rockinn' the spiral perm and spandex, I'd be embarrassed, too!

jeff s: Hi Amy! I love it...I did not know u are a college basketball fan..i am too-syracuse university.I like madonna's "4 Minutes" video..Boy, she looks great for 50 plus. I like thes eblog notes..I am upset that there seems to be a bit of terrorism on our home front-St xavier University and the playgrounds at chicago's public schools where kids are being shot-how awful..We should all be outraged..Let our political leaders find a solution soon.i'm quite angry w/ what happened at Northern Illinois and Virginia Tech last year as well as knowing what has happened to the kids attending CPS..I fear for everyone's life. We need change in our gun laws. JS
