2013-06-29

Host: Amy Matheny with Guest Host Jim Bennett

Jim Bennett, the Midwest Regional Director for Lambda Legal, joins Amy on this BIG Pride Queercast. Jim helps us to understand the historic DOMA and Prop 8 rulings that came out of the US Supreme Court this week. He also discusses the progress of Illinois Marriage Equality and the upcoming March on Springfield in October.

Guest: Bisexual Singer/Songwriter Jill Sobule joins Amy to dish about her new tour of "The Jill & Julia Show" (with SNL's Julia Sweeney) which is coming to Chicago on July 3rd at the City Winery. Jill shares how she and Julia met, how they decided on this show and what we should expect to see. She also touches on Katy Perry and their different "I Kissed a Girl" songs, dipping her toes into Broadway musicals and if she prefers drinkers to stoners in the audience.
